Despite advancements made by manufacturers’ Research and Development departments, air conditioners continue to generate noise pollution, causing issues such as conflicts between neighbors, nighttime disturbances, and other disagreements. In the best scenarios, these are resolved through mediation; in more complex cases, judicial intervention is required.
After thoroughly examining various cases and developing numerous prototypes, refined by feedback from hundreds of clients and acoustic analyses in real conditions, we developed Dumis Iso, an acoustic concealment device for air conditioners.
Offered in collaboration with our French supplier specializing in sound insulation, this product represents the peak of acoustic insulation technology, combining quality, aesthetics, and remarkable performance.
Reducing the noise generated by a heat pump is a real challenge. It is crucial to strike a delicate balance between noise reduction and maintaining the airflow required for the device’s proper functioning.
Our acoustic insulation solutions have been validated by the LNE (National Laboratory for Metrology and Testing), showing an average noise reduction of 7 dB for the most common configurations.
Moreover, our devices are specifically designed to mitigate the most intrusive noise emitted by the unit, mainly from the compressor on the right side. For targeted action on noise coming from the fan, installing an additional acoustic wall, such as Dumis Plus, is recommended.
- Sound-insulating panels in hydrophobic polyethylene, 50mm thick.
- Closed-cell polyethylene foam specifically adapted for outdoor applications. The foam is flame-retardant, tested according to b1, in accordance with DIN 4102.
- The insulator has been UV stabilized and shows excellent weather resistance.
- “Heavy mass” viscoelastic EPDM underlay 3.5mm.
- The EPDM insulator is exceptionally absorbent for low frequencies.
- 3mm aluminum composite support.
- Acoustic absorbents are glued using an anti-vibration adhesive, further reducing the transmission of sound waves.
Our solutions were tested in a semi-anechoic chamber under near-real conditions and according to current standards.
The average acoustic reduction observed with the Dumis Iso casing is 7dB.
The average acoustic reduction observed with the Dumis Plus wall in conjunction with the Prima Iso casing is 10dB.
