Mobile or fixed air conditioner, which solution to choose?
The thermal comfort is an essential element to feel good at home. Air conditioners do just that, in addition to improving indoor air quality, which plays a major role in your health. However, it is obvious that the choice is vast, which does not always simplify the purchase. The hesitation relates in particular to the differences between fixed and mobile models. Don’t worry, PAC Concept has a guide to help you find the ideal air conditioning system.

Opt for air conditioning
Living in a sunny region has many advantages. But sometimes the temperatures are so high that they become suffocating. The best option is to have an air conditioner installed to provide cooling in your home.
We advise you to base your investment on your needs. With a conventional air conditioner, you are sure to be able to lower the room temperature according to your preferences. By opting for a reversible model, you also benefit from a heating system when winter sets in. This second option is more advantageous, as you don’t have to invest in different devices depending on the season. Moreover, price differences remain fairly small.
The architectural constraints of your home must also be taken into account as they define the installation options available.
The biggest question is which solution is the best: a fixed or portable air conditioning?
Choose fixed air conditioning
Stationary air conditioners are available in several variants that can be easily adapted to the particularities of your home. You can turn to a multi split, a monosplit, a centralized system and more. We strongly suggest reversible air conditioning, which allows you to make significant savings, both in purchase and use.
With a fixed air-conditioning system, you benefit from a high enough output to fully cover the thermal needs of the house. In addition, the system is equipped with an outdoor unit. This makes for quiet operation, which is a great advantage especially at night or when you are particularly exhausted. Let’s not forget that the fixed models give you excellent performance and are designed to last over time.
After installation, fixed air conditioning requires little maintenance. Just remember to clean the air filter twice a month. Vacuuming or washing with soapy water is fine. In this way, you will not have to provide an additional device for air treatment.
You’ve probably heard that the energy consumption is higher with a fixed air-conditioning system. In fact, you just have to compare the energy labels and choose the right air conditioning for your home.
But then, what about mobile air conditioning?
As its name suggests, it is a device that you can carry from one room to another according to your needs. However, to exhaust the warm air, an outlet either through the window or in the wall is required. The absence of an outdoor unit increases the acoustic discomfort knowing that the noise produced by mobile air conditioners is around 55 dB. The low purchase cost also goes hand in hand with reduced performance. More concretely, mobile air conditioning is above all a backup solution.
Mobile air conditioners meet specific needs and impress with their portability. Conversely, stationary air conditioners shine by their ability to operate all year round. As far as we are concerned, we prefer fixed models. If you don’t particularly like the design, you can always opt for a climate cover!
