How to protect your outdoor air conditioner?

Although an air conditioner is often necessary to guarantee comfort during hot seasons, its installation is subject to technical and aesthetic constraints. Choosing a cover for the outdoor unit allows to keep the charm of the facade and to protect the device. Discover the solutions available to you.
Solution 1: Plants and planters
The outdoor unit of a reversible air-conditioning system is relatively bulky and unsightly. If your home has a garden, balcony or terrace, you may want to consider hiding the unit behind plants. In this case, the air conditioner will harmonize with your landscaping.

In any case, you will have to allow sufficient space between the air conditioning unit and the plant cover when defining its dimensions. The cover must not touch the unit, in order to let the air circulate and ensure its cooling, but also to prevent dead leaves from falling into your reversible heat pump. The installation of the planter or plant wall will also have to take into account regular watering and the size of the plants. Debris and water coming into contact with the unit can weaken it over time and reduce its life.
